Alan Knowles is a Queenstown-born photographer
now based in Wellington,
New Zealand. His documentary work has been published in most major New Zealand
newspapers and magazines and numerous books. He was the organiser of Wellington´s
fotofest 98 fringe representing independent photographers. His work is held in
many private collections; and he is represented by Photospace Gallery and Idiom
Studio in Wellington and the McNamara Gallery in Wanganui.
Services offered include black & white and colour 35 mm and medium format
film stills and digital imagery. Having trained and worked as a print journalist
and feature writer for 20 years Alan Knowles offers copywriting as an adjunct to
his photography.
Areas of specialty - aircraft and aviation, electricity generation,
roading, engineering, research, laboratory work, wine industry, tourism, bridges,
aerials, mineral exploration, forestry, alpinism, mountaineering, skiing (downhill
